Accommodation

Le Guanahani is the largest resort on St Barths, though with just 67 rooms and suites it’s still somewhat petite. The accommodation is housed within colourful cottages and the Luis Pons-designed interiors bring a bright and contemporary twist to the classic colonial style. All rooms have air-conditioning, a flat screen TV with movies on demand, iPod docking station, complimentary WiFi, mini bar and a private terrace; some also offer a private pool. Junior and One Bedroom Suites provide more space and there is also a collection of individually decorated Signature Suites, offering two or three bedrooms and exclusive extras such as welcome drinks and snacks, an unpacking service and a complimentary 30 minute hydrojet or balneo treatment at the spa.

Restaurants And Bars

The hotel’s main restaurant, Indigo, is situated by the pool and overlooks the beach at Grand Cul-de-Sac; breakfast and à la carte lunch are served daily, as well as dinner on selected nights, with an emphasis on fresh seafood and grilled dishes. The restaurant’s barefoot little brother, Indigo on the Beach, offers the same excellent menu in a more relaxed setting, and there is also a lovely beach bar surrounded by thatched palapas. The elegant, candlelit Bartolomeo is open for dinner only, with a sophisticated menu that draws on both Caribbean and Mediterranean influences.

Facilities

Choose between the resort’s two swimming pools or the two beaches where you’ll find a range of complimentary non-motorised watersports including windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkelling; kitesurfing, scuba diving, windsurfing and submarine tours are also available at an additional charge. There is a fitness centre, floodlit tennis courts, various hiking trails and the wonderful Spa by Clarins which includes an adult only swimming pool, steam room and hair salon. Classes on offer range from yoga and Pilates to zumba and stand up paddle fitness, which is a new one for us! The kids ’ club (for ages 2-6 yrs) and junior club (for ages 6-12 yrs) are complimentary and provide a host of fun activities, while babysitting can be arranged at an additional charge.

Important Information

The hotel will be closed between 25 August - 26 October.

Mandy's View

OUR St Barths SPECIALIST

Le Guanahani celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2016 and the celebrations coincided with the completion of a four year, $40 million refurbishment - in our humble opinion, it was money well spent!

Home to the only children’s club on the island, this resort is a haven for little ones

There are two beaches at this stunning resort - one for swimming and sunbathing and the other is perfect for an early morning or evening stroll

For something really different, Le Guanahani offers a unique ‘Cook Your Catch’ programme where you can head out with local fishermen to catch your own fish which the chefs will then expertly prepare for your dinner that evening

Barbados

Always professional yet wonderfully warm and welcoming, it’s a credit to The Sandpiper’s exceptional staff that so many guests return year after year

Harold Shepherd is something of a legend at The Sandpiper - as well as running Harold’s Beach Bar he’s also the hotel’s unofficial social secretary, arranging sailing regattas, football tournaments and quiz nights

Complimentary transportation is provided to The Spa at Coral Reef Club - we can thoroughly recommend the Signature Fresh Lemongrass and Ginger Rub, it’s definitely worth making the short journey
