There are just 50 rooms and suites, elegantly decorated in a classic European style. All are air-conditioned, with amenities including satellite TV, DVD player and WiFi. Many rooms also have a private terrace or garden, with views of the hotel gardens, the town or out to sea. The Junior Suites and Suites offer more space, while the Exclusive Suites boast a large terrace with sun loungers, an outdoor dining area and a private garden, and can interconnect with a Deluxe Suite to create a two bedroom suite.

The views from the outdoor terrace at the Belvedere Restaurant are unforgettable, as is the delectable menu of local and Mediterranean cuisine. There is also an excellent poolside restaurant that’s open for lunch, serving salads and wood-fired pizzas, plus a pool bar to keep you refreshed during the day. The atmospheric Cocktail and Piano Bar is decorated with 18th Century frescoes and offers a fine selection of cocktails, Champagne and local Prosecco.

The infinity pool in particular enjoys the most stunning panoramic views where its edge melts away into the horizon and sea beyond. The hotel also offers a complimentary boat trip along the Amalfi Coast for a chance of spotting the glitterati and gazing at the sheer beauty of the hillside villages and resorts. Other facilities include a gym, wellness centre and a small boutique. Although there is no kids’ club per se, the hotel does provide a range of activities for little ones including tennis lessons, sailing and pizza making. There is also a complimentary shuttle service from the hotel to Amalfi and Positano, and various tours and excursions around the local area.
