A converted 15th century palazzo overlooking the iconic Grand Canal, Ca’ Sagredo exudes history and character, is filled with impressive works of art and boasts one of the most spectacularly sited restaurants in the city. The hotel is right in the centre of Venice between the Ca d’Oro palace and the Rialto bridge, a few minutes’ walk from St Mark’s square and 40 minutes from the airport by private water taxi. There are just 42 rooms and suites, decorated in a classical style with views of either the courtyard, surrounding rooftops or the Grand Canal itself. All are equipped with air-conditioning, TV, WiFi, mini bar, some suites also have floor-to-ceililng windows that open on to the canal and the Heritage Suites are particularly striking. The outdoor terrace at L’Alcova restaurant affords stunning views over the canal, and serves traditional Venetian cuisine, while the rooftop bar is a great spot for a refreshing Bellini.
