THE TRAVEL FOUNDATION

The Travel Foundation is an independent UK-based charity working to ensure tourism benefits people and the environment in many of our destinations. They work with local authorities, tourism associations, tour operators, local businesses and local communities with the aim of maximising the benefits tourism can bring to a destination. Recent projects include work with the Rastafari community in Jamaica; conservation and sustainable excursions in Mexico; water and energy consumption in Sri Lanka; and helping implement mandatory sustainability standards in hotels across Cyprus. THE ROCKHOUSE FOUNDATION

Jamaica is where it all began for Caribtours back in 1979, and this charity, which helps vulnerable children in the Negril area and has invested over $3million in local education projects, has a special place in our hearts. Since its inception, the Foundation has completely transformed and modernised five schools and completely renovated and expanded the Negril Community Library. Its current project is the building of the area’s first Special Needs Early Childhood School and through these projects the Foundation directly impacts the lives of thousands of young people and their families.
