15 minutes from downtown Muscat on the south east of the Arabian Peninsula.

Accommodation

262 rooms and suites each feature a terrace or balcony and include complimentary WiFi, 42” flat screen TV, DVD player, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar and a separate bath and shower. Superior Rooms offer views of the gardens and pools, or upgrade to a Superior Sea View Room for enchanting views of the beach and the turquoise waters of the bay. For a more spacious option, Executive Sea View Rooms feature a sitting area and One Bedroom Suites enjoy a separate lounge/dining area. 40 Interconnecting Family Rooms are also available and feature one king and one twin bedded room, each with their own bathroom, and a PlayStation in the second bedroom, ideal for keeping the children happy.

Restaurants And Bars

Enjoy a wide range of cuisines throughout the resort with 9 main restaurants and 13 bars/lounges and casual areas, all of which are accessible to all guests staying in any of the resort’s 3 hotels. Dining at Al Waha includes the Surf Café, perfect for a family lunch or light snack in a relaxed atmosphere, offering burgers, sandwiches and salads, so the kids can eat and then jump straight back in the pool. For dinner, Samba showcases a different themed buffet each evening, with flavours from Asia, Latin America and the Mediterranean all featured and we especially recommend the barbecue night.

Facilities

The resort boasts an array of family facilities, with the Cool Zone Kids’ Club (4-8 yrs), Splashpad water play area and the start of the fantastic 500 metre Lazy River all located at Al Waha, and GameZ and the impressive Adventure Zone easily accessible at the resort’s Al Mazaar Souk. Adventure Zone contains a huge soft play area, complete with ball pool, slides and a demon drop, and the enthusiastic staff are on hand to hold the hands of younger ones, or for a game of Wii tennis with the teens.

Important Information

Children 12 yrs and over are permitted at Al Husn only, but must occupy a separate room from their parents, and have limited access to Al Husn’s facilities. Children under 16 yrs are not permitted in Shahrazad or Sultanah for lunch or dinner. The infinity pool, private beach and beach bars of Al Husn are also for guests of 16 yrs and over only. Children staying at Al Husn are therefore invited to use the restaurants, pools and beach of Al Waha and Al Bandar.

Interconnecting Family Rooms are great, as you have 2 rooms next to each other guaranteed, with an internal connecting door which can be left open or closed for privacy. The resort also offers soft toys, crayons, milk and cookies for younger guests

Why not take advantage of the stunning bay with a dolphin watching cruise (October – April), or discover Oman’s underwater world with diving lessons for beginners and advanced options for the more experienced

It’s well worth upgrading to half board, as the supplement is very reasonable and includes dinner in either of the buffet restaurants - Samba and Al Tanoor, or enjoy a meal credit at a choice of 7 other restaurants
